Tegan kline1/8/2024 He took decentralization seriously, he took open-source tech seriously. We had gone to an event together and he told me about some of the challenges he’d faced as being Project Lead for the Graph and it was through those stories that I really understood his value set. I met him, I think, in 2018–2019 through a friend, Chelsea. I had known Yaniv, one of the founders of the Graph, for a really long time. What drew you to join the Graph when you did? So that’s really when I dove in headfirst and started researching the space. ![]() I really saw the opportunities in Ethereum to kind of create a new internet, to create a new financial system that works more fairly for everyone, removing some of these intermediaries that sit in the middle, that take a lot of the money and the value. It was when I learned about Ethereum in 2016 that the light bulb really went off and I found my passion within that which I was always searching for it definitely was not in finance. Had I understood more about monetary policy at the time, I probably would have dived in head-first, but I put it on the back shelf and went this traditional Wall Street path. I learned about Bitcoin in 2011 while I was at school and that’s really where the seed was planted. When I arrived there I didn’t really know which direction I wanted to take my career and I was like ‘What’s the best thing you can do coming from this school?’ and it was investment banking at a bulge bracket bank. It’s kind of evolved a sense that you could have religion plus evolution which has been exciting to see.īut then, from there, I was really good at business, I was really good at math, I really enjoyed philosophy and physics, but naturally, I accepted a full scholarship to Baruch in New York City, which is a finance school. I wanted to dig up dinosaur bones and that’s because I’m from a really small town in Ohio and a lot of people around me didn’t believe in evolution because of religious beliefs, so I was always kind of educating myself on evolution and the Big Bang and all these things. I mean, I think the first career I ever wanted to have was to be a paleontologist. What did you want to do when you were younger and how did that shift at college?
